Workshop by Show Judge Art Blom: October 2nd

Art Blom will judge for this year’s show. He is also teaching a workshop on palette knife oil painting called Sculpting With Paint at the Art Center on Saturday, October 2, from 9am until 12 noon. Supplies include a palette knife, paint, and canvas. Cost is $65

Art was born and raised in Idaho. He attended college at Boise State and Ohio State where he received his MFA. He was head of the sculpture program at Grand Valley State Colleges in Allendale, Michigan.  He has received many honors and awards including several Artist’s Consultancies and Research Grants. Today, having been inspired by the landscapes of the west, Art’s work is on canvas. Using oil paint and a palette knife, Art has developed a dynamic and textural style of painting that is widely admired and collected. His paintings are often on display at the Art Center and at Main Street Gallery in Grand Junction.
