Cynthia Duff is a Colorado native who was inspired by her family’s passion for art, music and nature. Her strength in design is attributed to training and working as a commercial artist in corporate and marketing design. She lived in Grand Island, Nebraska where her two children were born. It was during this time she had the opportunity to observe Sand Hill Cranes in the Platte River Valley. She began to incorporate them into her artwork. Cynthia currently resides in Grand Junction, where she captures the stunning vistas and wildlife of the magnificent West.

Cynthia is most known for her paintings on birchwood which include bending pieces of birchwood after applying acrylic paint to reveal the rich wood grain below. Gold leaf is applied to embellish her creations and varnish and special paints ensure durability.

Movement transforms Cynthia’s art. Her experiences and keen sense of observation are reflected in her pieces. she accentuates the chemistry of color and shapes of nature, capturing the music in the air, interpreting visual wind chimes on wood, canvas and paper.
