Cassie Gobbo has had a difficult and interesting life. She uses art as her self-motivation, escape and for growth/therapy. Her passion for art led to a BA in Media Arts and Animation in 2009. She works professionally as an artist, and art teacher, and has been in several art galleries/festivals winning awards. She is the owner of a multimedia studio, and animator with DeadOn Studios in Grand Junction. She loves teaching, and has helped recovering women with drawing classes, kids with stopmotion animation, and teens with manga classes. She also teaches artful animals and super heroes (everyday hero) to children to help them learn self-esteem and caring through art.
What can one hope to gain from her demo? Cassie will go over her inspiration source, being from emotions, and techniques used to create her mixed media gallery art. Materials she uses in her pieces are marker paper, tape, drawing board to mount work to, pigment liner, colored pencil, acrylic paint, prisma markers, and rubbing alcohol. You as an artist might find inspiration through her subject matter, or find ways to use the techniques she teaches in your own art. Finding inspiration from our own lives and turning it into a beautiful piece of work is breathtaking. Come join Cassie as she works on a newly created piece. The outcome is just as unpredictable as the mixed media she plans to use.
