Vinje was born in Grand Junction, has moved, and returned three times. Her mom, a teacher, introduced Vinje to art, and ever since, that is the way she is and what she has always done. She was a collage artist for many years, and invented the art form she calls rustage. She made tile murals for Sherwood, Riverside and Rocket parks. One of her park murals was stolen, and a news article was printed about the theft with a photo. The mural was returned soon afterward, unharmed, and left in an alleyway. Vinje has been working with alcohol ink for about eight years. Her list of supplies for the demo includes a dried up ball point pen, decorative (thick gauge) foil, and alcohol ink. Her work can be seen in Uncanny Valley on Main Street and in the Lithic Bookstore in Fruita.
